Melle
by Phili-clip: UK manufacture, design
from late Sixties. Beautiful coloring with greens, grays and orange is
the result of the laminated construction - a thin layer of the mottled
strands sandwiched between thicker layers of transparent acetate makes
the colors shine out. Eyesize:48/ Bridge:20. Should withstand prescription
lens fitting. |

Silhouette Mod 43: This one is a real classic designer frame by the Austrian company from 1973-5. The sort of frame worn by film stars, and would look marvellous with a lightly tinted lens. Wonderfully comfortable as one would expect from this manufacturer, it is a burgundy mottle colour Eyesize:54/ Bridge:16 (boxed sizes). The sides have a silver finish 'belt buckle' trim to set them off. This should present no issues in glazing with clear or tinted |

Saphira
1410: Made by Optyl using their patented superlight material
it weighs in about 30% lighter than conventional acetate material. The
material has a 'plastic memory - it needs heating to a higher temperature
than acetate when putting in lenses or otherwise adjusting them, and when
reheated will always return to its original shape Colour is key lime green.
Eyesize:50/ Bridge:15 (boxed sizes). Should withstand
prescription lens fitting. |
